A cyclical view of time could make someone pessimistic because chaos rises up and overcomes the people instead of the people overcoming chaos. In this view chaos could overcome and continue to win with each cycle.
A linear view of time should make someone optimistic because there is a beginning, middle and end. So in the end, we are redeemed if we believe in the true God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So believers in Jesus will be brought to heaven to live forever. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever shall believe in him will not perish but will have everlasting life.” John 3:16
In conclusion, a cyclical view of time is likely that evil and chaos could win in each cycle which is a pessimistic view.
